Jim I think you are correct. There are two different part numbers for the
vent wing seals which would lead me to believe that the glass is also
different.

I thought the beetle one was different. I went thru a process many years
ago, 
trying to get mine replaced. The story that I kept getting from the glass 
people was that VW kept giving them a beetle part.

I'll check tonight to see whether this glass has a 311 part #.

I'd be reluctant to remove a good glass from the frame. I think it can be 
difficult to get it back in correctly AND tight.
