YOU MUST WEAR A FULL FACE SHIELD TO DO THIS Once I've scraped as much out as possible, I spray the socket with carb cleaner with the skinny nozzle. This leaves it really clean, so the metal makes really good contact. The stuff WILL spray directly back at your face, regardless of where your face is located relative to the socket. It will happen, not might, it will. Save your eyes and use a full face shield. Jeff '67 Sqbk -----Original Message----- Russ is right about cleaning out the socket. You will want to MAKE SURE that the driver is ALL THE WAY DOWN into the socket before you try to loosen those bolts. I usually clean them out with a small screwdriver, then tap the XZN driver in to make sure it is all the way down, then add the handle and twist. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
