[T3] Cooling fan loose on hub ?

Hello fellow T3'ers,

It's been sometime since I've posted and have not been reading the posts
with any regularity. Getting married and buying a house changes one's
priorities a bit... but here I am, in need of some advice and suggestions to
remedy the current problem with my notchback. She's running strong but, at
the moment, needs a little TLC.

Behind the fan I thought I had a loose screw or two that hold the fan
housing to the engine block. The rattling is awful and I cannot put off
fixing it any longer. However, upon further inspection (I disassembled the
fan housing, removed the pulley and began pulling off the fan), the screws
appear to be secure, but I've found that the rivets that hold the fan to the
hub are loose. Has anybody experienced this? Is it possible to reset the
rivets or should I look for a new fan? How difficult is it to get the fan
back onto the crankshaft?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

DaveB
