The best solution would be to send the Empi header back and buy a new stock
muffler. If you're sure you want to use the header, the rear ('upper') heat
exchangers come off with the muffler in any case, and are usually difficult
to separate from the muffler. Getting them out of your way is easy, just
*don't throw them away*! They're worth money, and once that header starts to
crack and fall apart, you may decide you want to use them again.
