They're *supposed* to > I think you or someone else has stated this before > and it surprised me yeah i read this in one of the VW magazines as well, it was an article on replacint a tranny but it showed how to replace the shift ro bushing, and it mentioned when one removes the rod some of them are slightly bent BUT they ARE supposed to be like that. my shift rod as well is perfectly straight i didnt notice a bent when i was cleaning the rust and gunk with sandpaper, but IF your rod IS bent slightly id recomment leaving it like that. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
