One more thought: It's possible that you still have the original electric fuel pump in place under the front end. If so, you NEED this T, or something equivalent, just to keep the pump from building up excess pressure in the line. Also, if you still have this pump, it is likely that you have a dangerous situation there. If the pump has been set to run whenever the key is ON, then it will continue to run after an accident. The FI system included a safety shutoff that would shut the pump down if the engine stopped, but that system is probably out of the loop now. You could get around that by installing a resetable safety switch available from NAPA that would automatically open in a crash. They cost less than $20, which is a lot less than a funeral. Or you can remove the electric pump completely and just use the normal carb- type mechanical pump. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
