Daniel,

	On the fuel injected cars, if you gently floor the 
accelerator pedal, you'll never engage the kickdown switch.  You have 
to give the pedal an extra push to over come a second spring in the 
lever assembly -- really push the pedal into the floor.  As you 
describe, there's no engaging the kickdown by mistake.

	I assume that the same action is required in the carbed cars, 
so you've probably got it just right.
