I know that I've bought music wire from a local piano shop and they had every size you could conceive of. OTOH, this is really hard to do and make it work out nicely, but it might not be too hard to make a jig that would make them uniform. Can anyone tell me what diameter the wire is? That will give you a really good idea of how hard this would be to make. Also, how much demand is there for this part? If we could use 100, it might be practical to get a regular spring wire manufacturer to make some. I don't know how much trouble this would be to tool up for, but there are many spring makers out there who will make 50-200 of something, but this is somewhat unusual. I just bought 150 custom stainless steel coil springs for work that are a little larger than a pencil. They cost $2.38 each in that quantity, but this was a very simple shape. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
