The finished product won't be cosmetically perfect, but it can be quite functional. I had this done with my 72 after the first time it was rear ended and it came out well. I have a special plate that I made which bolts onto the place where the bumper brackets used to go. I'd be happy to loan it to you if you need it. I think the body shop thought it was useful, but they said that they usually do fine just using the old bent bumper brackets. This plate has a couple of places to hook on to and just gives a bit of extra versatility. I suspect that this will be somewhat easy for them to do if the engine is out and the bumper is removed, but they WILL need some means to pull the bumper anchor plates back into position. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
