You may have a plugged passage, or just a worn brass piston in a worn
pot metal bore. :=( I haven't figured a way to repair this problem. This
is why VW/Solex finally went with the rubber diaphram on the newer
carbs.
My rebuild kits that I got came with the replacement diaphrams that I
will probably never use.
BTW, I am getting some material to make the base gaskets for our carbs.
I have to buy the material in a 24"x24" sheet, or a 3"x48" strip. While
I am machining them, I just as well make a bunch.
