Well, I'm not ACE, but I'll respond anyway... Is there something currently wrong with your Fuel Injection system?? I believe you'll get more power and reliability from the FI system with its current distributor than you can with the dual carbs and a 009. It would be a shame to get rid of the FI for a "lesser" system... All the FI is is an electrical circuit that once everything is connected and reporting things like it should, it just "works." Very little tuning is involved. You won't have that advantage with dual carbs. Several people on this list are experts on the FI system and will most likely be able to help you quickly track down any problem you might have based upon symptoms, and then trying things & reporting them back to the list. Shameless plug coming up, but if you read the guide I put together at http://www.tiserves.com/VW/technical/ (the Glenn FI guide) as well as the VW FI filmstrip on the same page, you will have a pretty solid understanding of how the system works. Anything else you need to know can be answered here. Nice car!! Welcome to the list!!
