There is no "stock" hi-po engine... you can go to 1679 with stock longevity
if done right with quality parts but you start losing 30% life with a 1776.
Everything sounds good but keep the FI if you can, compression is WAY too
high for any gas youll get at todays pumps.. it will run too hot and the
1500S's were famous, even with the better gas, for burning holes in thier
pistons. Ditch the 009, its probably the worse choice... choose one of the
FI dists... I like the 69 the best.

They are removable, and I think you can put a 34 in there but I wouldnt
touch them. You can jet it up for a richer mixture... but if you keep stock
engine displacement keep the stock jets.... I went up one size on my 1679,
two sizes was WAY too rich.

I dont think so... and that leads me to another thing to watch out for...
cheap heads!! Only the genuine VW ones are reccomended, but for the hipo
heads Id ask others opinions. Im having trouble with the dual springs
mashing the seats into the heads on even the genuine VW heads.

Buy Quality parts.... genuine VW where possible! and if someone touts an
engine build, find out how many miles they have on it and how many times its
been apart.
