You really need to use type3 specific parts on a type3. The reason is clearance, and a lot of the type1 systems are not made to clear the cooling fan intake bellows. Your car still has this bellows right? If not you need to address this right away or the engine will over heat due to drawing in warm pre heated air instead of fresh cool air from the cooling vents located on the body. >Think they will work to bring the exhaust ports on #1 and #3 far >enough out to clear the fan shroud/cooling tin so they >will mate up to the slip in portion of the T1 header? I don't think the t-3 j-tubes will give you enough clearance to use the t-1 exhaust you already have. Also see my above statement, as the cooling layout of a type3 is different than a bug, and on a type3, the system works together to provide a solid great working system. Sell you t-1 sysytem on e-bay, the Samba or even STF, and get a t-3 system that will work without needing to butcher the car or the cooling. >If not, who makes a good header for the T3. There are other out there Rocky Mountain Motor Works sells one, Bugpack sells one, CIP sells one. It's really a case of Kymco's set up being a little cleaner set up, along with it being a top quality product. Be careful, just like bugs, there are some cheap things for type3s too. >It's some big bucks compared to one for a Bug! : ) Welcome to the world of type3s. If you think the exhaust is high, try a few other things, like body parts.
