NeilL=> I have a 1970 FI Fastback in Phoenix that a => Tempe firm is making run. To the contrary, it sounds like they're *not* making it run, and spending a pile of your money to not do it. What shop is this? => 1) Fly to Phoenix and fix it myself (ECU, harness, or trigger points) => 2) Have them install carb(s) and a 009 just to get it home 3) Tell them what to do, and to stop wasting your money. 4) Get it to someone who knows what they're doing. => My preference is to stay fuel injected; but logistically and => thus financially, I may have to switch for a while. I expect you'll find that a carb conversion will cost a *lot* more than getting the FI right would. => The 32/36 progressive gives me a choke and butchered => engine cover. The dual 34 ICTs have no choke(?) If, against all advice, you do decide to switch to carbs, don't compound your problems with aftermarket parts that don't fit. Only stock carbs have a chance of making this a happy experience. But in your place I wouldn't trust this shop to do it. Our resident FI experts offer a wealth of knowledge on these systems. Diagnosis help will be on its way with only some clear and detailed info from you on the symptoms. Better yet, get your 'mechanic' to join the list and learn a few things.
