Thanks, I never knew the name or the history. John was right about the 
Greenbriar name, too. We had a family friend with one of those.

It's clear that VW was more successful with all of these than Chevy was. I 
suspect that this was as much due to corporate karma than anything else:VW 
people were into small cars and good gas mileage, while Chevy people were into 
cast iron, drag strips, and smoking tires. They're pretty incompatible 
cultures, pretty much like our "light" and "dark" sides.    ;-)
