Started out the day in the squareback...i generally drive my bus for work on a daily basis.... Well I went to the store. Came out and it wouldn't start...I guess my gas gauge is working today(it is kind of intermittent, and I ahdn't driven in a while-so I forgot the last time I filled it up) I checked my records...and it had been a while. SO I go get some gas, come back. Then I drove to the gas statiogn to really fill it up, and absentmindedly pulled the hood release in lieu of the gas flap release-and the cable snapped or something...but didn't open the hood. Then when I got home I shut the drivers side door-and went back in to get something-and the handle broke... That's before I got home and burned my kitchen table while trying to iron a shirt.... Thank god that weekend is behind me. On a related note-how hard is it to take doors off another squareback and put them on mine? I've got a lead on a pair of doors that look rust free, decent panels, and all the gaskets look to be in good shape(mine are all dried up and useless). And a previous owner cut holes for speakers in the door. The only down side-they are blue, and mine are tan. The donor car is a '72 or '73 and mine is a '71 if that matters... -Kevin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
