I've played around with attempting to fit the OE electronic ignition pieces into an FI distributor and it's not very promising. The pickup looks too tall to readily fit, there are new holes that would need to be cut/drilled into the distributor housing, the shutter "wheel" won't easily fit the distributor shaft and the plate inside would have to be swapped. I'm sure it could be *done* if someone was determined to muck around with it. Whether it's a worthwhile endeavour is another question ... Now, if there were some way to "split" the signal on the distributor side of the coil -- send the "even" pulses down one wire and the "odd" pulses down another -- or "trick" the FI into batch-firing *all* the injectors at once (ala L/LH-jetronic) .. hmm. Damn, now I've got ideas and I'm gonna hafta go to the "library" in the garage.. to go to thit my ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
