I adjusted the brakes last night. Today I witnessed the same problem except the lower pedal height wasn't as low. When I got home, I felt each of the wheels & found the left front hot. I'm now suspicious of either a bad brake hose or a caliper hanging up. After it cools I'll tear into that left front to see what I can or can't find.
