I may have found my answer! I grabbed the shocks from that front end I brought to Hershey... they were almost like new! they are Fitchel & Sachs... dated 12/68 (they were off a 69 Fastback)and had the part number 311 413 031g. So they were type 3 part numbers but the only difference is 413 instead of 513, does that mean the SAME part just used in a different application (front instead of rear)? I didnt know fitchel & Sachs shocks came original on our cars!
