I suppose the correct shocks would need to be dealing with similar axle loadings, and I guess the rear load on a Bug would be similar to the fronts of a Type 3. I'm guessing the bushes are the same, and that the travel needed would be similar (could be a bit more on the Type 3 front end maybe?). Presumable they can't be identical applications or our front dampers would have been the Bug ones (or vice versa). Dave.
