There should also be a 46 or ET46 stamped on there. If you find a smaller number then this is a beetle wheel. If you can't find any other number, then here's how to check them. This method works on 4 bolt wheels. I don't know about the 5 bolters. All you need is a straightedge 12-14" long. Remove the hubcap and lay the straightedge against the circular hump that the hubcap used to sit around. Slide the straightedge out until it touches the rim. If it touches near the outer rim, anywhere in the area where the balancing weights sit, then this is a type 3 wheel. All other VW wheels will put the end of the straightedge much farther in. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
