[T3] Estimated Ranges for restoration.
<x-flowed>
It's been my goal for way to long to have a nice restored squareback.
I'm trying to figure out how much money getting an old type 3 is going
to cost me.
I've got a '71 but I've finally decided that I'm too enamored with the
slope nose, so for the restoration,
I'm hoping to get a 69 or so. My goal was to end up with a nicely
painted, chromed up, stock drive train,
new looking, daily driver. These are the estimates I had for my 71'
which needs pretty much
a new interior, bumpers, trim, etc.
I figured it was about $2500.00 in after market parts. ( using WCM as a
guide )
$3000.00 for paint and body work.
but then, I've never actually done a restoration, just kept my
volkswagens alive and running
as it were, but never got to get them really pretty.
in fact i would love to get the car looking like this:

but this guy apparently spent $15000.00. of course some of that is
motor and transmission.
still, do I need to up my budget by quite a bit?
