If not try to start it in N, (I think some years can be started in both P and N, but I'm not sure what years, anyone care to elaborate). Ron Mann's '70 Auto Square, the car I got to drive for the cruise at the Invasion, had to be started in N. To get it out of Park, pull up on the shifter and ease it back and then back down past R into N. No key is necessary for this, but you will need the key to unlock the steering column. I like Jim A's way of freeing stuck brakes, open the inspections holes in the drums, and using a punch and hammer strike the metal part of the shoe till it moves.
