Hello all, Sorry to have missed everyone at the Invasion :-/ Hopefully I'll be able to make next year's. OK, now for my question. What started out as a once-every-5th-drive type of problem is now occurring just about everytime I drive my '73 Fastback. Basically, I'm noticing a spot on the throttle travel where the can wants to 'hiccup'...the spot is just a few millimeters from idle, and anytime the throttle rests in that general vicinity the engine seems to stutter. My hunch is that perhaps my throttle position sensor has worn out in that particular place, or perhaps there is some schmutz on the contacts in that particular location. Is this a likely cause on an engine that has just over 65K miles on it? I'm going to investigate it in the next few days, and will also check the manifold pressure sensor for oil and such. Also, not sure if this is related, but once or twice this summer the car has run-on for a few seconds after shutting off the ignition. Any idea what that might be? Thanks much in advance for any advice or suggestions! - Doug :-) Falls Church, VA 73 Fastback ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
