I agree with Jims suspicion. When I first got mine, one of the first things that I checked was the lower head bolts before I adjusted the valves. When I put the wrench on the 1st nut I almost coldclocked myself. The weight of the wrench was enough to turn it. I don't know why or how they get loose but it sounds like there is a bag full of rocks in there.
