Things to check: Make sure the charging system regulating voltage is correct. It should be above 14V with a warm engine at medium RPM. Otherwise the FI will run rich. Make sure the cold start valve is not running all the time. When you get in the car and turn the key ON you should hear a relay click and then hear a second click ~1 second later. If you don't hear BOTH clicks, you have 2 wires swapped on your starter. This is a problem mostly with 72s and it's mentioned in the Bentley manual. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
