Someone else on the list had a problem with those, and I have found them loose. They are fairly long studs, and the nuts are about half way on the transmission case. Bentley manual automatic section, page 29 figure 11-1 near the item #1. There is also an o-ring, and a gasket that seals that area. figure 10-1 shows the top nuts, as items 1, 2, and 3. Item 18 is the breather/vent, and there are 2 of them. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '65 T1 (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
