<x-flowed>My car passed its test today! My car is now roadworthy and I can drive 
it as much as I want!.

First it went to a garage for a _full_ brake overhaul, and then passed
its test first time. They put in new front disks, ground the drums, 
refurbished the rear shoes and replaced the front rubber hoses. Even 
thought the front pads are OK, he ordered new ones, as he didn't have 
them in stock.

I have some play in one ball joint, which can be done at a later date.

I was extremely impressed with the garage. Although it is definitely
old-school, in other words, it looks like an oily pit as opposed to the
new ones that look like labs, the owner _really_ knows his VWs, and
really knows his Type 3s too. It was very confidence-inspiring that he 
didn't have to be told all the things that are different between a 
Beetle and a Type 3.
