<x-flowed>Unfortunately, treadwear differs between manufacturers and even within 
the different models :-(  There is no "standard".  Other factors are 
Temperature and  Traction ratings, again, no standard with those.

In a nutshell, I wouldn't trust "el Cheapo's" with a 300-treadwear for a 
relatively more expensive 300-treadwear manufacturer rated performance 
tire.  I lost one Porsche 914 to that and ain't gonna do that again!
