Sounds like my fasty and most of the UK ones I've seen- because of the import taxes in those days we usually got the cheaper no-frills models. Isn't that the difference between a TL and TA designation? I actually quite like the lack of flashy bits, though I have fitted a clock and would like to fit the rear hatch light.
