Well it is finally getting nice and hot (about 80) here in dry and sunny Arizona and while I was out and about yesterday I noticed once I got back home that my "oil pressure" light was flickering on and off. I could make it go off if I raised the RPMs from the 900s, I am running 20w for that reason but it seems not to be enough, I drive the usual 65-75 mph. I don't know if some you remember about a year and half back I drove my Fasty here from Texas and aside the light doing the same thing when idling, I had a lot of pressure building up on my gas tank making my engine to misfire. I know Steven Ayres had said that it must have been overheating so since I am getting ready to drive my Fasty back to Tx-Ms-Al-Md and all the way back to Tx I would like to try address the problem and this is what I have done since. I ensured all cooling tin is in place and all bolted down, all air intake hoses and clamps are serviceable and tight. I have set the thermostat linkage to approximately 1/8th inch opening when cold and ensured my generator belt is tight. I have not watched the thermostat open while my engine warms up yet, should I do this. What else could I have missed or could be causing this to occur? I don't have an oil gauge to measure pressure I guess this would be another alternative to check the pump pressure. I was going to send this to Steve as a PE but decided to send it to the list instead so that if someone else is having this or something similar happening with their T3 they too can benefit from my question. :] Thanks David 67 Baltic Blue Fastback ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
