[T3] Running high
<x-flowed>It's me again. I've been having a number of problems with the idle on my
'71 Square. She won't run at a an idle RPM under 1500-1600 unless I
give the throttle a good solid goosing, and even then it immediately
goes right back up there once I start to drive.
I've taken the carb apart enough to clean out the float chamber and the
throats, and gave all the parts I could see a good cleaning while I was
in there about a week and a half ago, but it didn't help much. I removed
about a quarter inch of some black fuzz-like gunk out of the float
chamber; didn't think anything that looked that nasty could belong in
there.
Also, she won't hold a timing very well, but I think that also stems
from the carburetor issue. I need to get this fixed so I can run a valve
job; I haven't started it in a while because one of the valves on number
three was rattling like a woodpecker on speed.
From what I can tell, the carburetor is a Weber, two barrel. The car is
an automatic, if that makes any difference.
Any help anyone can give me would be great!
