THANKS Russ!!! ;-) > My new Bosch regulator box says: > 30 019 > 0 190 350 068 -740 That's the late 12V VR. Any idea what the -740 means? Is it just a date code? A lot of Bosch parts seem to have extra numbers at the end like this, and I've always wondered what they meant, if anything. > > If someone here can use one with these specs, this one is for sale. > The stock replacement should have a loop of wire coming out of it. This one doesn't. Which connection got a pigtail on the 6V type 3 VRs? This one has two 1/4" male spade connections: DF & 61. one dual 3/8" male spade connection: B+, and a bolted connection: D+. In this respect it is exactly like the late 12V VR. I THINK the part number was 0 190 213 0__ (not sure of the last 2 digits.) This is from memory; I can correct this tonight. It would work just fine with a generator marked 7V50A, but it would limit at 45A instead of 50. I just picked it up because I thought someone here could benefit from it, so it's available. The guy I got it from said it was a beetle/bus VR, but it's not exactly the right number for anything in my books. My guess is that it's just a supercession of an earlier number and I don't have a new enough book to show it. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
