Early '70s came with C brains and then switched to Ds thru 71. I think the 
changeover was early in 1970 starting with engine #U 0 227 000. The D brain 
superceeds the C brain, but you're supposed to change to a different temp 
switch at the same time. If you disable the cold start valve the temp switch 
becomes moot.
