Well, after being happy for Phillip and sad for me we went and looked at 
a yellow/orange 67 squareback that Phillip has seen in this yard for 
several years.  It is covered in moss, mildew and such from sitting next 
to lilacs and under a tree.  car looks pretty straight, save for the 
munched driver's door.  so we get the property owner coaxed out of the 
house and she says it is her sons and hopes he is willing to sell it.  i 
called the # she gave, talked to him about he car and agreed to sell it 
to me.  he said the motor is tired, but it ran when he parked it 3 years 
ago and that the tranny had some difficulty with 4th gear.  so... 
anyway, i am driving back to medford thursday afternoon to get the title 
and tow it to Phillip's house.  it was originally a red car with white 
interior.  the PO thinks that pan is pretty solid, but can't be totally 
sure.  I'm not to worried about it as I have an engine that can go in 
the car and i think it will just get an IRS rear subframe swap from the 
parts fasty. 
While I was bummed for me, but happy for Phillip, my joy returned when 
the purchase price for the 67 square was $100! 


Oh, then on the way back to Phillip's house tonight, we passed a light 
blue early fastback!
