John, do yourself a big favor and send it out to an upholstery shop. You'll 
save time and money and head aches doing this. Even armed with the video that 
TMI / J Bugs produces, I wouldn't do it again, and yes I have the video. I've 
rebuilt engines, rebuilt wheel cylinders, master cylinders, painted cars, 
rewired cars, reupholstered seats, etc... but I'll never do another headliner 
again.  Compared to the headliner, the rest of it IS easy, even painting! I think 
that was some of the secret motivation behind cutting off the roof of my 71, so 
I wouldn't have to install a headliner. : ) Do yourself a favor and send it 
out, you'll be happier in the long run. Just some food for thought from someone 
who has installed 4 of them already.
