Because it's FI, pumping the gas pedal does nothing.  Turning the key energizes
the fuel pump and that pressurizes the fuel lines.  Turn the key and you will
hear the fuel pump buzz for a second then stop (I think it's actually 1.5
seconds).  After the pump stops, do it again, then actually start the car.

If you have a cold start injector or auxiliary air valve then make sure those
are functioning properly.  See your shop manual for testing those devices.
