The PO father, who is now deceased,as I understand it,was the original owner.I believe he originally restaored it to it's present condition.I am assuming he was without the Bentley or Muir manuals. His son had no other information besides that.I knew nothing about VW aircooled engines previous to this one. Most of the knowledge I have about auto repair I've gleaned by working on GM engines with a sprinkling of Mopar and Ford thrown in. This car is a one hell of a learning experience,I can tell you!I have worked on a Audi 5000 that belonged to my sister and susequently cursed German engineers that designed that POS but "Heather" is a different animal altogether. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Adney" <jadney@vwtype3.org> > > 0 280 100 043B > > 1969 Fastback manual trans. > > So I'm confused now.
