In this case, since you actually have a 69 it sounds like you are okay. I don't know where I got confused, but it helps to repeat info like this with every message because otherwise I'm forced to work from my memory, which is clearly inadequate. The part # above is confusing because that appears to be a Bosch part # with a VW suffix. PS stands for pressure sensor, what you have been calling MPS. MPS is a common term, but I don't think Bosch or VW ever used it. Your 69 has the Pressure Switch also, so you should make sure it is hooked up and working. If the hose is off, the engine will run rich. If you listen carefully, you may be able to hear the microswitch in it click when you floor the throttle with the engine running. It may also be worth checking to make sure that the switch is actually working. It should be in one state witht the engine off, and the other state when idling. I'll have to look up part #s tonight to be sure but I don't know what # that is above. No matter what it is, it is not a 69 type 3 brain; the number's just too high. I think the B brain (correct for 69) would be 003. I think the PS that goes with this is also a B. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
