The common use for "injection" is Einspritz, but theoritically it probably
should be Einspritzung as Dave said, but it isnt. Regular folk talk at auto
parts stores and among people in, my experience, is Einspritz.

In boring detail; Ein ~ inwards, and Spritz = spray.

That's incorrect. There is no "Einspritz" in the german language. It's either "Einspritzer" to describe a fuel-injected entity or "Einspritzung" which means fuel injection.
