Not sure about Type 34s, but here's how it was done in a more ordinary '69. The wires come into the trunk thru a grommet in the firewall, just in front of the fuse box. There is a triple inline connector there for the harness which continues down to the MC. There is a small space at the left rear corner of the gas tank where the MC harness passes thru. This is the same hole that the MC reservoir pipes pass down. This hole is sealed with grey putty after the harness & pipes are installed. It is much easier to install these with the gas tank out. Once the wire gets below the gas tank there are a couple (maybe) of thin metal straps which can be bent over the harness to hold it in place. I have good used MC harnesses of both the 68-9 style (for 3 2-pin MC switches) and the later style (two 3-pin switches, recommended). -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
