Well, if I felt any reason to blame it on the carbs I surely would :-) but both are set up the same and adjusted to the same rate... I should probably do a visual of all the little jets and such to make sure one hasnt fallen out though. Carbs were rebuilt 7Kmi ago. Engine temp (meas at the oil cooler) are what Id expect, but the one thing I did notice is that this car seems to go through heat stroke more than Id expect with a new engine. By that I mean when you come off the highway at say 175F, stop and pay your toll and accelerate up to speed again the temp rises to 210F and then falls back within a few minutes. Past experience has shown that as the motors get older this gets worse, but the yonguer ones fluxuate less... The Plugs all look the same too. So long as my oil light doent flicker, Ill leave the filter on, Id just like to see more than a few PSI at warm idle... at least at this stage of the game. > Years of experience with full flow using Fram filters. Any engines I've ever > had to tear down showed no lubrication problems. Most never got torn down > again. All went over !00k before the bodies rusted out or the engine just got > retired. > > -- > ******************************* > Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org > Madison, Wisconsin, USA > ******************************* > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org > >
