Here's some stuff I KNOW with my experiences: I. The rear apron makes a difference two ways: 1. Forces undercarriage air down and essentially away from the rear of the car, allowing side and top air to fill the void. This greatly reduces the amount of debris (and oil) that will deposit on the rear of the car and glass. BTDT. 2. Engine removal is MUCH easier with it missing (heheheh, just threw that in :-) II. The horizontal seal at the end of the cargo floor (just above the hatch lock and dipstick) is an important seal. If this is not completely sealing against the lower hatch you WILL get air leaks. To test for air leaking around the hatch, just close the hatch and 'seal' the gap with some 2" or 3" low-stick (painters) masking tape and go for a drive. Remove one section of tape at a time until (top, bottom, left, right) until you 'find' your leak i.e. exhaust smell appears.
