I found some interesting facts. This was a push type system. An A/C VW would require a pull type. The first fact I found was that the master and the slave cylinders were exactly the same diameter bore. and they were made of plastic with metal sleeves inside. Even the line between them was plastic. The one I was working on does not have repair kits available, and new one was over $200, so I decide to try and repair it myself. With the bores the same diameter, and I figures the length of the leverage applied by the pedal, I cam up with the fact that there is only about 100 PSI anywhere in the system. This is why they can get awat with plastic parts. I repaired the line between the 2 with standard airline fittings. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
