How are they connected? Groups of 4 in series with a limiting resistor? How much current are you planning to put thru each one? 10mA, 20 mA? I guess you're right; that still doesn't add up to much total current. Did you know that LEDs actually get dimmer with use? I certainly didn't until a couple of years ago. An LED that is left on full time will be putting out about half as much light a year from now.
