I went to adjust my timing this morning and found that at some point, most likely during my last drive, the oil breather cap had popped off. What does this signify? Too much oil pressure? I thought I was on the low side of pressure because sometimes after a long drive my oil light would just barely flicker in rhythm with the idle of the engine. Without even knowing this, the mechanic who inspected the car said I should be using 20W50 in it (which is what I put in it this morning). On the upside, I finished the first complete tune-up on the car since I reinstalled the engine and it seems MUCH better now. Hit 75mph easily this morning without even knowing it. Not going to push it harder just yet. My damn pressure sensor hose keeps coming off the air intake plenum though (would this be what caused the two backfires this morning, each after quickly slowing down from 70mph to about 50mph, letting off accelerator?)... Any tricks on how to get your hands under there to secure it tightly to the nozzle on the air intake? I can't seem to get under there. ===== Aaron Clow - http://www.tiserves.com/VW/ '71 FI AT Square - On the Road '71 FI AT Fasty - Off the Road '71 AT Square - the Parts Bin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
