Has anyone gone through this repair? The roller assembly shown in the Bentley manual is for a Fastback decklid hinge. Your Squareback does not have one. I have replaced one of the hinges on my 66 Squareback recently because one of the pivot bushings wore out and broke. I need to replace the other side too since it is getting sloppy. You need to remove the hatch and the hinge cover over the headliner first. Then comes the scary part. You need to get out your big screwdriver and pry the torsion bar out of its little welded on bracket. This takes considerable force and there are not great places to brace the screw driver against. Keep a firm grip on the screw driver when the torsion spring finally comes out. It makes a pretty loud bang when it finally lets go. Do one side at a time so you can use the other side as a visual reference for how the pieces go together. Check the conditions of your bushings and pins and remember to lubricate the new parts with a little lithium grease or something similar. I will try to remember to take some pictures when I do the other side. Good luck.
