Could anyone explain to me what changes the squarebacks went through [mechanically] after the year 1967. I remember when I was initially looking for a squareback prior to purchasing my last one [1968 AT/FI] and talking to a guy that said that the 1967 was the best year due in part to it being the last year for dual carbs. My latest purchase comes from a one owner who was 93 years old. The vehicle is in an amazingly well-preserved state. The interior is virtually flawless with the exception of 1 slight slit on the driver's seat; carpet is still holding up well as is the headliner and although I know the back hatch and hood to have been replaced, the remainder of the car does not have a dent or a ping to be found. The pan has not one speck of rust and the most awesome thing is that even the clock works and is ticking strong. I am in heaven!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a true California treasure to have found. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
