Re: [T3] CVjoints questions
<x-flowed>Now that I have dismantled and cleaned all of the CV joints, a couple
more poins.
The inner CV joints are more worn on the inner hub, the outer ones more
worn on the outer hub. I suppose it's totally out of the question to
take the least worn parts and make up two good CV joints, and then buy
two new ones? What about rotating them; i.e. putting the inner ones on
the outside and vice-versa? If not, I'm leaning towards keeping the
outer ones, because the hubs are worn smooth (kind of cratered) but not
pitted, and replacing the inner ones, because there is definite pitting
on the inner hubs.
I've decided to replace all of the screws. After having a good look at
them, it's clear that a good proportion of them need pensioning off.
Seems reasonable to me that every 35 years the screws need replacing.
I'll be much happier using my torque wrench on new screws.
