<x-flowed>If all else fails, you can weld a hex head bolt to the head of the cv bolt and then remove it. I have 3 cars and have replaced all the star headed bolts with the allen head type. I too have had a lot of problems with the star headed bolts stripping out.

Try hitting the edge of the bolt head with a hammer and chisel. You might also try cleaning out the bolt head so the socket will go in a little deeper, and

I can see how the second idea might work, but I don't see what hitting it with a hammer and chisel would accomplish. Are you suggesting I cut the bolt head off? or what?


Seems to me that the odds are definitely against you in this job.. 23 of 24 bolts turned with almost no problems. The 24th just had to round out. Would it be a good idea to replace all the screws with new ones when I when I put it all back together?
